Vol. 150 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Postal Services.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a six day delivery service will be provided in all districts of West Cork.

I assume that the Deputy has in mind the townlands in the Bandon and Bantry Head Office Postal Districts.

Proposals for providing a daily frequency of postal delivery throughout the Bandon Head Office District are in hand and will shortly be implemented.

At this stage I am not in a position to indicate when a similar reorganisation of the Bantry Head Office District will be undertaken, but I can assure the Deputy that there will be no avoidable delay in dealing with Bantry and the other districts which remain to be reached under my Department's scheme for reorganising postal services throughout the country.
