Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Labour Exchange.

Messrs. Finlay, M.J. O'Higgins

andMacBride asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he is aware of the substantial hardships which are being caused to the public living on the South-West side of the City of Dublin by reason of the fact that the nearest labour exchange is in the centre of the city and, if so, if he will consider setting up a branch exchange in the Kilmainham or Ballyfermot areas.

The question of the number of local offices of my Department required to cater for the needs of unemployed persons in Dublin and the most suitable location of such offices, having regard to the growth of the city and the movement of the working population to the new housing areas on the outskirts of the city in recent years, is at present under active consideration.
