Vol. 150 No. 12

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Butter and Margarine.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state, in respect of each financial year from and including 1950-51, the estimated consumption per head of the population of (a) butter, and (b) margarine.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the estimated consumption of butter and margarine as such per head of the population in the calendar years 1950-54. It is not possible to make these estimates for the financial years.

Following is the statement:—

Estimated quantities of Butter and Margarine consumed as such per head of the population in the years 1950-54 (including farm produce consumed on farms without process of sale and tourist consumption).
