Vol. 150 No. 12

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal River.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he received a request from a local committee to meet a deputation to discuss ways and means of having the River Lennon, County Donegal, cleaned, and, if so, if he will state (1) when the request was received, and (2) what action he has taken in the matter.

A letter was received in my Department on 31st August last from a representative of the Lennon drainage committee but it did not contain a request to me to receive a deputation. The relief of flooding caused by rivers like the Lennon is work which is not the function of my Department and the committee's representative was informed to this effect in a reply sent on 30th September, 1954.
