Vol. 151 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tractors: Road Tax.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of permits issued in respect of tractors, which are used for reward solely for carriage of milk to and from creameries, and in respect of which it is proposed to reduce the road tax from £31 10s. to £8.

The transport of milk to a creamery or of separated milk from a creamery has been exempted from the licensing provisions of the Road Transport Acts by Orders made annually since 1949. Accordingly, no licences or permits have been issued in respect of tractors used for this purpose.
