Vol. 151 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River Maine Catchment Survey.

asked the Minister for Finance when the survey of the River Maine catchment will commence, and whether work on the project will commence immediately after the completion of the Brick-Cashin drainage scheme.

The engineering survey of the Maine catchment has been completed and the design of a scheme is in hands. Pending preparation of a scheme and compliance with the requirements of the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, it is not possible to say when works on the scheme will commence.

The Parliamentary Secretary has not answered the second part of my question—"and whether work on the project will commence immediately after the completion of the Brick-Cashin drainage scheme."

It may actually commence before the Brick-Cashin scheme is completed.
