Vol. 151 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - C.I.E.: Superannuation Scheme.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether negotiations between C.I.E. and the trade unions concerned in regard to the superannuation scheme for the company's wages grade employees have yet been completed, and, if not, if he will make representations to the company in regard to the desirability of reviewing the matter without further delay.

At my request the Board of C.I.E. have reconsidered the question of increased pensions for their wage grade employees. I understand that the board are not disposed to go beyond the offer which they made some time ago to the trade unions representing the employees, which offer was not acceptable. I am having the matter further examined but I am not in a position at present to make a statement.
