Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Nuclear Equipment.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will make a statement in regard to the offer of the President of the United States of America to make nuclear equipment and fuel available to friendly nations for peaceful purposes.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if his attention had been drawn to a recent statement of the American President in regard to proposals to give financial aid and technical facilities to develop atomic energy in friendly nations, and, if so, if he will investigate the possibility of availing of such proposals, in the event of their adoption by the American Congress, or of other means for the development of nuclear power in this country.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether his attention has been drawn to a recent statement by the President of the United States of America in regard to the provision of financial aid and technical facilities for the development of atomic energy in all free countries, and, if so, if he will make a statement in the matter.

The attention of the Government has been drawn to the recent statement of the President of the United States of America in regard to granting financial aid and technical facilities to friendly nations for the development of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and the matter is under consideration.
