Vol. 153 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Radio Telegraph Institute Examinations.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that the percentage of successes in the examinations conducted by his Department for students of the Radio Telegraph Institute, Glanmire, County Cork, was abnormally low in the last two years and, if so, if he will have the matter investigated.

I have no function in regard to the management of institutions catering for wireless telegraphy. They receive no grants from my Department and they are not inspected by my officers save in respect of their suitability as an examination centre. In the circumstances, I am not prepared to discuss the examination results for pupils at any of the institutions without the consent of the institution concerned.
