Vol. 153 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received proposals from the appropriate authority for the provision of a water supply for Churchtown, South Cork, and, if so, when it is likely to be provided.

I have received no such proposals, but I understand that the matter is being investigated locally.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received proposals from the appropriate authority for the provision of a water supply for the Coole-Bawnard and Ballyhampshire areas, Fermoy, County Cork, and, if so, when it is likely to be provided.

Only preliminary proposals for the provision of a water supply scheme to serve the townlands of Coole, Grange and Ballymasherry have been received. Approval in principle was issued last February and I understand that the sanitary authority intend to undertake the work on completion of two schemes which are currently in hands.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received proposals from the appropriate authority for the provision of a water supply for Boulta, Ballynoe, County Cork, and, if so, when it is likely to be provided.

Contract documents, comprising detailed plans and specifications, for this scheme have been approved. The sanitary authority have not yet submitted a bill of quantities and I am not aware whether arrangements have been completed for the acquisition of any necessary lands and rights. I have received no indication as to when the Cork County Council will commence the scheme.
