Vol. 153 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sheep Dipping Regulations.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether, in order to facilitate farmers using the single type sheep dip, he will consider amending the relevant regulations by prescribing a much earlier commencing date for the dipping period.

I am not prepared to accept the Deputy's suggestion. The sole purpose of the Sheep Dipping Orders is the prevention of sheep scab and I am advised that the dipping period at present prescribed is the best for that purpose.
