Vol. 153 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Fish-Processing Station.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether, in view of the urgent need for a fish-processing station on the north-west coast of County Donegal, he will take steps to have such a station erected at Downings at an early date.

The proposals submitted by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara for fishery development works which have been so far approved do not include a fish-processing station at Downings, but the requirements in this regard of the north-west coast of Donegal are getting due consideration.

Could I ask the Parliamentary Secretary if he knows at what point or place the station will be placed on the north-west coast of Donegal?

I have informed the Deputy that the requirements in relation to the north-west coast of Donegal are being considered.

Has there been a decision taken in relation to the erection of a new processing plant on the north-west coast of Donegal?

I have told the Deputy this matter is under consideration.

The Parliamentary Secretary has not told the Deputy anything.
