Vol. 153 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Project Workers—Wet Time Insurance.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have the wet-time insurance scheme applied to land project workers when work is carried out by direct labour.

Workers employed by the Department of Agriculture on land reclamation work are paid for interruptions of work due to inclement weather on the same basis as road workers in the particular county council area. They would not benefit by the application of the "wet time" insurance scheme and it is not proposed to extend it to them.
