Vol. 154 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Re-export of War Equipment.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce (a) whether any potential war equipment or British surplus war material has been sent by way of our ports to Middle-Eastern countries, and (b) whether any restrictions in regard to the export of such goods are operated by his Department.

Materials of the nature referred to may not be exported to any country other than Britain save under the authority of an export licence granted by the Minister for Industry and Commerce. There is no record in my Department of the issue of any export licence for such materials to Middle-Eastern countries since the 1st January, 1953, the earliest date from which records are still available.
