Vol. 154 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Electrification.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when the rural electrification scheme is likely to be extended to the parish of Belgooly, near Kinsale, and what is the present position in the matter.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Belgooly area has been considered for selection by the board on a number of occasions but has not so far been selected as the returns for the area have not compared favourably with those for other areas still awaiting development in the Cork No. 2 district. The area will be reconsidered by the board in due course and the decision of the board will depend on how the returns for the area then compare with those for other areas awaiting development in the Cork No. 2 district.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when the E.S.B. propose to extend rural electrification to the Templederry area, North Tipperary, and whether steps will be taken to have this work expedited.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when it is proposed to extend rural electrification to the Templederry area, Nenagh, North Tipperary.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 13 and 14 together.

I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Templederry area has been considered for selection by the board on a number of occasions but has not so far been selected as the returns for the area have not compared favourably with those for other areas still awaiting development in the Limerick district.
