Imports of anthracite amounted to 22,229 tons in 1945; 42,910 tons in 1950 and 70,535 tons in 1955. Imports of phurnacite are not separately recorded but are brought to account under the Official Import List description "Briquettes, etc. of coal, coke and peat": imports under this heading were nil in 1945; 93,365 tons in 1950 and 80,832 tons in 1955.
