Vol. 155 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wicklow Gold Mining.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if a State mining permission under the Minerals Development Act, 1940, was recently given by him for the mining of gold in County Wicklow, and, if so, if he will state the district to which the permission applies, and the quantity of gold which may be mined thereunder.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The permission applies to part of the valley of the Goldmine river in County Wicklow and permits the holder to remove 50 ounces of gold.
