Vol. 156 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - R.I.C. Pensions.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total number of resigned and dismissed members of the R.I.C. at present drawing State pensions, and the cost of granting them an increase of 25 per cent. on their present pensions.

There are 425 resigned and dismissed members of the R.I.C. at present in receipt of pensions under the Royal Irish Constabulary (Resigned and Dismissed) Pensions Orders. The cost of increasing their pensions by 25 per cent. would be approximately £14,300 per annum.
