No representations have been made to my Department as to the need for repairs in this case. If the Deputy will arrange to have a statement of the repairs considered necessary submitted to my Department I will look into the matter, but I must point out that this is an unusual case inasmuch as the county council failed to assume responsibility for the maintenance of the structure which was constructed some 25 years ago at a cost of £1,629 of which the State contributed £1,529 and the county council £100. In any consideration to be given to the question of repairs now this aspect of the matter will of course arise. The question of providing an accommodation road to the pier would seem to be a matter for consideration by the county council in the first instance.
