Vol. 156 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Rolling Stock.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make urgent representations to the Board of C.I.E. to refrain from importing any rolling stock, or components thereof, which can possibly be manufactured or assembled at the C.I.E. works.

I have frequently urged upon C.I.E. the desirability of undertaking the greatest possible degree of manufacture and assembly of equipment in their own workshops; and I have been assured that it is their policy to manufacture parts and equipment in their own workshops whenever it is practicable and reasonably economic to do so.

Would the Minister undertake to replace the machinery and tools that were in the shop in Dublin when Deputy MacBride was a member of the Government?

An entirely separate question.

The Deputy is trying to muscle in on the question of another Deputy.

A very pertinent muscling in.
