Vol. 156 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Recruitment.

andDeering asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the fact that only nine of the candidates who have not been called for medical examination for entrance to the Garda Síochána as a result of the recent examination will be over the age limit when the next examination is held, he will take such steps as are necessary to have the said nine candidates called now.

I regret that I am unable to take the action suggested by the Deputies. To do so would be most unfair as it would deprive candidates, who obtained much higher places in the qualified list, of the reward to which they are justly entitled.
