Vol. 156 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford sub-Post Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of the increasing importance of Ballysaggart, Lismore, County Waterford, and the fact that the nearest post office is six miles away, he will have a sub-post office established there.

The very limited volume of business likely to be transacted would not warrant the establishment of a sub-post office at Ballysaggart. Because of the heavy deficit on which the postal service is operating, it is necessary to avoid incurring additional expenditure on new facilities except where clearly justified by the volume of traffic offering.
