Vol. 157 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milltown (Kerry) School.

asked the Minister for Education what is the cause of the delay in building the proposed extension to the convent school, Milltown, County Kerry, and if he is now in a position to issue a decision in the matter.

It is not proposed to build an extension to the existing convent national school at Milltown, County Kerry, but steps are being taken with a view to the erection of a new school to replace that school.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that a site which the reverend manager has offered for a new school is regarded as suitable. The commissioners expect to be in a position to furnish to my Department, at an early date, sketch plans and an estimate of the cost of the new school. When these have been received my Department will communicate with the reverend manager in regard to the making of certain arrangements which are a necessary preliminary to the sanction of a grant towards the cost of the erection of the new school.
