Vol. 157 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land for Forestry.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that 200 acres of land were offered last October to the Forestry Branch of his Department by Mr. Thomas Loftus, Castlehill, Crossmolina, and five others, and that Mr. Loftus has not since received a reply; and, if so, if he will state the reason for the delay in issuing a reply, and if he will have the land offered inspected with a view to acquisition.

Formal offers of the lands referred to by the Deputy were received by the Department from Mr. Loftus and five other owners towards the end of September last and were acknowledged. There was an unavoidable delay in procuring the necessary maps, but these have now been received and the lands will be inspected in the very near future.
