Vol. 157 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Forestry Workers' Wages.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that an increase of 10/- a week has been granted to road workers in Tipperary, North Riding, with effect from 1st October, 1955, and, if so, when it is proposed to grant a similar increase to the forestry workers employed at all centres in that area, whether the increase for forestry workers will be made retrospective to 1st October, 1955, and when payment will be made.

Increases in the wages of road workers in County Tipperary or in any other county are automatically applied to forestry labourers at forests situated in the county with effect as from the same date. The normal practice will be followed in the present case.
