Vol. 157 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Street Widening Plan.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the present position regarding the proposed scheme for the widening of Church Street, Dublin, and when it is hoped to bring it into operation.

The report and recommendation of the inspector who held the local inquiry into the petition submitted by Dublin Corporation for a provisional Order empowering them to acquire compulsorily the land required for the scheme are under consideration. I am not, therefore, in a position to offer any comment on a scheme at this stage.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary indicate when some decision can be given?

I cannot at the moment but I can assure the Deputy that there will be no avoidable delay.
