The Deputy's question is taken to relate to applications for allowances under Part II of the Army Pensions Act, 1953. On that basis the figures sought are as follows:—
(a) 649
(b) 244
(c) 194
(d) 141
The difference between the figures at (b) and (c) is accounted for by deaths.
The delay in having decisions reached in the outstanding cases is due to the nature and extent of the examination necessary in order to determine whether the applications come within the terms of the Act.
