asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will give particulars of the firms that went into liquidation since May, 1954, indicating in respect of each such firm the nature of the trade or industry in which it was engaged, the date of establishment, and the amount of capital subscribed.

The information is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report.
I should explain that some of the companies listed in the statement had ceased activities prior to May, 1954, although liquidation did not take place until afterwards; also that in a number of cases the companies went into voluntary liquidation to facilitate reorganisation or because the objects for which they had been formed had been achieved.
