Vol. 159 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Monaghan Forestry Workers' Wages.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the forestry workers employed at Dartry, County Monaghan, are paid only £4 18s. 9d. per week while the county council workers in the same area are receiving £5 6s. 6d. per week, and, if so, if he will take steps to bring the wages of the forestry workers up to the same level as those of the county council workers.

Arrangements have already been made to apply the wage rate of £5 6s. 6d. a week recently sanctioned for road workers employed by the Monaghan County Council to forestry workers employed in County Monaghan forests.
