NOTE:—The figures for skilled workers include as well as Tradesmen, Drivers (excavator and vehicle), Office staff and Supervisory grades (gangers, storekeepers and foremen). Figures in respect of unskilled workers include grades such as drillers and chargehands who are paid on the basis of differentials over labourer's rate.
asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the number of men employed on arterial drainage at the latest available date and at the corresponding date last year.
The number of men employed on arterial drainage on the 13th October, 1956 was 1,134. On the corresponding date in 1955 the number was 1,267.
