Vol. 160 No. 3

Order of Business.

It is proposed, with the permission of the House, to discharge the order for to-morrow relating to the Animal Remedies Bill, 1956, together with the Financial and Money Resolutions, the Pigs and Bacon (Amendment) Bill, 1956, and the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) (Amendment) Bill, 1956, so that they may be taken first to-day in that order. When completed, they will be followed by items Nos. 6, 7 and 8. If not already reached, it is proposed to interrupt business at 7 p.m. to take items Nos, 6 and 7 and, when these have been completed, to resume the order.

Mr. Lemass

Can the Taoiseach say now whether it is intended that the Dáil should meet next week?

Yes, why not?

Mr. Lemass

Will the Taoiseach say, if the business ordered is completed this week, what business there will be for the Dáil to do next week?

You will be told about that in due course.

Mr. Lemass

Will there be any business?

There will.

Mr. Lemass

Is the Taoiseach aware there were eight Bills on the Order Paper for introduction last July which have not yet been circulated, and can he tell us now when they will be circulated?

I can tell the Deputy that certain of them will be circulated immediately, for instance, the Bill dealing with the setting up of the voluntary health insurance scheme. That will be circulated immediately and will be dealt with next week.

Mr. Lemass

Will the Taoiseach expedite the process, in view of the probability that the Dáil may meet next week with no work to do?

We will meet that situation when it arises—but it will not arise.

An Tánaiste

He is very cross to-day.

Mr. Lemass

Will you get on with it and do some work?

Perhaps it would be advisable to report the times of sitting to-morrow: the Dáil will sit to-morrow from 10.30 a.m. until 2 p.m. and questions will be taken at 12 noon.
