Vol. 160 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Air Agreement: Cork Services.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether the recent air agreement with Britain contained a provision authorising British companies to operate scheduled services between Cork and the United Kingdom; and whether, with a view to operating such scheduled services, discussions with any British companies. have been entered into and, if so, with what result.

Under the revised air agreement with, Britain such British airlines as may be designated by the British Authorities will be entitled to operate air services between Cork and certain points in Great Britain. I do not know what discussions interested parties have had with British companies, but I am aware from announcements made in Great Britain that some of these companies have intimated to the designating authority in Great Britain their interest in these routes.
