Vol. 160 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Housing Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the date on which the Cork Corporation submitted proposals to his Department for a scheme of 272 houses at Casey's Cross, Cork, and when sanction for this development work may be expected.

Outline planning proposals for the development of a site at Casey's Cross for 272 dwellings were originally submitted to the Department by the Cork Corporation on 21st June last. Since then, various aspects of the proposals have been the subject of correspondence between the Department and the corporation. It is hoped that a final decision in the matters will issue at an early date.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cause of the delay in erecting new houses at Newtown Shandrum village, County Cork.

I am informed by the Cork County Council that certain legal difficulties have arisen regarding the signing of the contract documents for the erection of houses at Newtown Shandrum. The matter is still under consideration by the council's solicitor.
