Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Phoenix Park Fuel Reserve.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether over the period 18th February, 1948, to 13th June, 1951, any portion of the fuel reserve which had been accumulated in the Phoenix Park prior to the first mentioned date had been disposed of by sale or issue to Government departments or companies or other bodies established under an Act of the Oireachtas; and, if so, if he will state the quantity and value of the reserve fuel thus dealt with.

The reply to the first part of the Deputy's question is in the affirmative.

With regard to the second part I am informed by Fuel Importers Ltd. that the total quantities of fuel disposed of by sale to Government Departments, State-sponsored bodies and local authorities in the period referred to were:—

The total amount realised on these sales was £319,250.
