Vol. 160 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allocations for Cavan and Kerry Schemes.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of County Cavan the additional moneys which will become available out of the additional allocations announced by the Government on 23rd November, 1956, under the headings (a) land rehabilitation project, (b) special employment schemes, (c) inland fisheries, (d) Local Authorities (Works) Act, and (e) Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state how much of the additional allocations announced by the Government on 23rd November, 1956, will be available to County Kerry under each of the respective headings, and when this money will become available.

I propose to answer Questions Nos. 32 and 33 together.

Particulars of the allocation of £1,000,000 have already been announced and are included in the reply to a question by Deputies O'Malley and MacBride on to-day's Order Paper.

As regards the area allocations in relation to special employment schemes, I would refer the Deputies to the replies given to questions by Deputies Donegan and MacBride which appear on to-day's Order Paper.

Wherever local authorities are concerned they have either already been notified, or will be speedily notified, of the moneys available to them out of the allocation of £1,000,000. As regards expenditure from that allocation which is not administered by local authorities perhaps Deputies would, where appropriate, address requests for detailed information directly to the Departments or offices concerned.
