asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (a) the number of employees (i) ashore and (ii) afloat in the service of the Commissioners of Irish Lights; (b) the nature of the relationship between the Commissioners and his Department; and (c) whether the employees of the Commissioners have their pay and conditions regulated by agreement between trade unions and the Commissioners, or in any other way.

There is no relationship between the Commissioners of Irish Lights and my Department. I have no functions in relation to the affairs of the Commissioners, nor have I any information on the various matters referred to in the question.
