Vol. 160 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Minister's London Visit.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the purpose of his recent visit to London, and if he will enumerate the persons with whom he had discussions there relating to the affairs of this country.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether his reported interviews with members of the Opposition in the British Parliament related to official matters, and, if so, if he will state what transpired at such interviews.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 10 and 11 together.

During my recent visit to Great Britain I had discussions with our ambassador in London and with certain interested parties on matters connected with industrial development proposals in regard to which I am not in a position to make any statements. I also availed myself of an invitation from the Chairman of the General Electric Company, Limited, to visit the company's factories and laboratories, including the atomic energy division.

I did not have interviews with members of the British Parliament but the guests of the ambassador at a social function at which I was present in the embassy included certain members of the British Parliament.
