asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of persons, apart from engineering and executive staff, employed by Minfhéir Teoranta, at Glenamoy, County Mayo, before the project was abandoned as such and taken over by the Department of Agriculture and the Forestry Branch of the Department of Lands.

The number of persons, apart from engineering and executive staff, employed by Minfhéir Teoranta at Glenamoy, County Mayo, on 1st September, 1955, immediately prior to the taking over by the Departments of Lands and Agriculture of the lands occupied by the company was 29. By direction of the then Government issued on November 10th, 1954, the company's plans for development were suspended from that date. Under these plans the company anticipated that, at a minimum, 150 persons would be employed for seven months each year and 75 persons for the remaining five months.
