Vol. 161 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Barracks Housing Accommodation.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state what proposals his Department has for the provision of housing accommodation in Sarsfield Barracks, Limerick, for married members of the Defence Forces.

Work on the improvement of the amenities of existing married quarters at Sarsfield Barracks, Limerick, has commenced. The provision of additional married quarters at this barracks is under consideration as part of a scheme to improve the housing conditions of married soldiers at the larger military centres.

The Minister said that work has commenced. Work commenced a fortnight before the general election and then stopped. When is work going to recommence?

I am not aware that the work stopped, but I will inquire into the matter.

The Deputy will have to waken up a bit.

If the Deputy is awake, then the Minister is asleep.
