Vol. 161 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Galway Commonage.

asked the Minister for Lands what progress has been made towards acquiring the commonage offered to the Forestry Branch some years ago by a number of tenants in Kinclare, as an addition to Clonbrock forest, County Galway.

The commonage referred to by the Deputy is that in the townland of Ballintleva which comprises 45 acres and which is held in undivided shares by five persons who in addition also offered other areas totalling 30 acres to my Department. Agreement for the purchase of these lands was reached some years ago but the solicitors acting for four of the vendors have so far failed to show clear title to the lands.
