Vol. 161 No. 9

Ceisteanna-Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition and Division of Kildare Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands whether, in view of the intense local agitation for the acquisition and division of the Nairn estates in County Kildare, the Land Commission propose to use their powers of compulsory acquisition to enable the lands to be divided among local uneconomic holders and landless men.

I can say that the Land Commission have now no proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of these lands but I am unable to anticipate what further action, if any, they may take in regard to them.

Every decision in regard to compulsory acquisition of lands must be communicated in the first instance to the owner of the lands in question.
