asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the numbers registered as unemployed in each month during the year 1952.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

NUMBERS of persons registered at local offices of the Department of Social Welfare on the last Saturday of each month in 1952.
