Vol. 161 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Kerry Schools.

asked the Minister for Education if it is proposed to build new national schools at Killurey and Drumnacurra in the parish of Causeway, North Kerry, and if so, what the position is in regard to each project.

It is proposed to build new schools at Killurey and Drumnacurra in the parish of Causeway, County Kerry.

My Department has sanctioned a grant towards the cost of the proposed new school at Killurey. Preliminary arrangements for the erection of the new building, including the preparation of working drawings and a specification etc., are at present in the hands of the Commissioners of Public Works.

The reverend manager has offered a site for the proposed new Drumnacurra school and sketch plans and an estimate of the cost of the new building are being prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works. When these have been received, my Department will communicate with the manager in regard to the preliminary arrangements necessary before a grant can be sanctioned towards the cost of the new school.
