asked the Taoiseach if he will state the wage rate index numbers for the Dublin area for the beginning of 1957.

The index numbers of weekly rates of wages in the Dublin district at the beginning of 1957 were (to base January, 1939=100): Industrial, 229.0; Services, 230.5; Transport, 240.6; All Groups (weighted average), 231.5. These index numbers are at present provisional.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the general wage rate index for 23 occupations for the beginning of 1957.

The index number of wage rates in 23 industrial occupations at the beginning of 1957 (to base 1939=100) was 231.5.
