Vol. 162 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Legal Tender Note Fund Investments.

asked the Minister for Finance if, in view of the grave shortage of capital for socially and nationality desireable development projects, he will take the necessary powers to invest in Irish Government securities whatever sum is needed from the £64.6 million of the Legal Tender Note Fund at present held in its entirely in British Government securuties.

I have nothing to add to my reply to the Deputy's question on this subject on 29th May last.

Could ask the Minister, acting for the Minister for Finance, whether he would consult with the Taoiseach and ask him what he meant by his threat or promise that he would go outside the system if the present social and economic system did not create prosperity?

I do not see how that arises out of the question.
