Vol. 162 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport Services.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (a) what are the new technical developments which may affect the operation of transport services, to which he referred in the course of his speech in Dundalk on the 13th June; and (b) what changes he anticipates may result from such developments.

The Deputy does not seem to have grasped the significance of my remarks. My point was that technical developments now in sight are unlikely to invalidate forward planning in internal transport organisation for a period of about ten years ahead and that we should plan accordingly.

The Minister has not answered the question. The question asks him what new technical developments he has in mind.

Once more the Deputy does not appear to have grasped what I said.

Does the Minister not propose answering the question put down?

I have tried to make it clear that the question was based on a complete misunderstanding of what I said and I am not responsible.

The answer is as clear as mud.
