asked the Minister for Local Government (a) if he will state the sum spent on maintaining the structure in the centre of O'Connell Bridge in each year since its erection; (b) if he will initiate discussions between his Department and the Dublin Corporation with a view to having the structure removed and the bridge restored to its former condition; and (c) if the Government are prepared to make a grant available to the Dublin Corporation to remove the structure.

There is no information available in my Department as to the cost of maintaining the structure referred to. I am not contemplating taking any initiative in the matter, which is one for determination by the Dublin Corporation.
