Vol. 164 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - American Embassy at Ballsbridge.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether, in order to ensure that the proposed American Embassy to be built at Ballsbridge will conform with the good taste and high architectural standard of the other buildings in this area, he proposes to ask that plans be submitted to his Department or the planning department of the Dublin Corporation for approval.

As the provisions of the Town and Regional Planning Acts apply to any such structure, it is not necessary for me to make any specific request for the submission of plans to the planning authority. Such plans would not be submitted to me except in the event of an appeal against a decision by the planning authority.
