Vol. 164 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Work on Kildare Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the amount spent on improvements on the Osborne estate at Ballymore-Eustace, County Kildare, since acquisition, the area of land acquired, and the number of allotments made, and whether he has satisfied himself that the water supply thereon is now satisfactory.

The amount expended on improvements is £5,309. The area of land acquired was 154 acres. The number of allotments made is five. I am informed that a satisfactory water supply has not yet been secured but that aspect of the matter is receiving further attention.

Will that mean that more money will have to be spent on this land?

I am unable to say what the final outcome will be, but every effort is being made to provide water, so far without success.

It could have been done quite easily if it had been divided properly.
