When the timber jetty extension of Darby's Point pier had to be dismantled about ten years ago because of its dangerous condition, the Mayo County Council proposed that the structure be replaced and were asked by my Department to furnish a plan and an estimate of cost. These particulars have not been received in my Department but if and when they are the proposal will receive full consideration from the fishery viewpoint.
